Be careful when using through Norton Support

Norton support uses LogMeIn in order to connect with your computer for troubleshooting. I had gone through all reputable channels, so I know the Norton I was in contact with was legitimate.

When I downloaded and moved to connect through LogMeIn Rescue, my internet went down and a fuse was blown.

This is no joke.

Something happened when information was sent, as the socket the Verizon box is connected to blow and the fuse in my box flipped. That socket is now dead and I have to call an electrician to come look at it (spending 90$).

Price increase

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

As others have noted, the price went up this year without notification. I tried to cancel the account and get some of the year-paid-in-advance money back, but since it was just outside the first 30 days, they refused.

When I called, the customer service rep said there was no supervisor available. BS.

They rip you off. Stay away!

They raised my GOTOMYPC plans rate from $300.00 to $2,000.00 That says it all. Needles to say I canceled my service.

I was a customer for 13 years but that seems to not mean anything to them. I guess since LogMeIn took over GOTOMYPC everything has changed. It is unfortunate that companies like this just decide to become greedy and try to take advantage of their customers.

I will look to use Google remote desktop and Microsoft remote desktop which are both free and also look for any other services with much more competitive pricing. It seems that LOGMEIN is trying to get rid of their individual and small business customers who were loyal for years and helped build the company with our business.

Yes sir every year the percentage they go up is ridiculous. I cancelled this year to.

If enough people cancel they will either lower their pricing or people will go somewhere else or not even bother with it anymore.

I can wait til Monday to get to the office. This was simply a convince that I don't feel is worth the $$$

I think this was a deliberate move as they want to weed out all the small customers and concentrate on large corporations with 1000's of users. There is no other explanation. Peter

SCAM gotomypc

So, I spent 6 more hours trying to get my old account status back after the price for 3 computers went from 299/year to 1260/year. I was assured by Paul01s that they would work with me.

They did not. He says he cannot tell me what he received as he "keeps his word", but that he is "happy with the results".

I think this is beyond reproach. He is either 1. being paid off, or 2.

Lying, or 3. works for logmein.

Someone please investigate.

There are more than 1800 complaints about the price jack of over 400% in the past 6 months. They billed my closed credit card $1260.00 20 days ago, and I have still not gotten my money back.

Long Time Customer bids farewell

Used Logmein for nearly a decade. I Excellent software to use for transferring files, checking progress of the security system, working with offsite computers. They have a decent product and it works well on a number of devices including apple ipads & phones, droid phone and desk tops running windows 7 and 10 as well as laptops and chrome books. When I easily had it working on the droid phone, I knew this software could handle most devices.

Initially, it was free software and it worked well. However, in the last 3 years they wanted to go from $49 per year to $99 and then to $349 this year. When I tried to negotiate they insisted this is the best price.

This was noticed because they charged my card. I did not authorize an automatic renewal. They demanded proof. So I put the charge into dispute and we resolved it with me dropping the software and uninstalling it.

Oh well, off to use another software. Good product and very strange business practices.

Broke Written contract not to raise price with gotomypc

I have it in writing that my pricing was good as long as I was a GoToMyPC customer. LogMeIn bought GoToMyPC.

They are breaking all legal pricing agreements. Customer service no longer US based. Horrible company now. There are free options and competitors like remotepc that start at $6.00 a month not $130.00.

Stay away from this company. There are breaking all contracts.

Spent and hour on the phone and there best they could do was 40% off there heavily inflated rate of over $400.00 for only 2 computers. Which is still double then what I was paying and what I have in writing that my pricing will not go up.

I cannot recommend RemotePC either, pricing not bad and good discount for transferring from competitor, but interaction between devices is slow and delayed, and their response to support tickets is very slow, I have been waiting a week for responses.

Stealing Small Businesses Money

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

after 7+ years and with out notice or consent started billing me at $369 per month, previous rate $160. The time and money lost due to this has been so far has been around $2000.

I had to dispute all of the charges and change my entire account number. I assume they are still trying to bill my company and will eventually send us to collections for non payment which will be another time and money consuming task. I have also had no luck in calling my Rep or emailing anyone at the Logmein company.

I am heading to the Better Business Bureau next and then to a lawyer later this month. Its just beyond me how a company can just take your money without asking and then you the customer has to prove that that they are not entitled.

Cold hearted company and overly expensive product

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have subscribed to logmein for several years to help my mother (in her 80's) with computer related issue since I live 800 miles away. I renewed my current subscription in Dec 2017.

My mother passed away in early Feb 2018. I asked for a pro-rated refund to cancel my subscription. They said no. I told them I was only using it to help by 87 year old mother and they should be able to see from my account data that I had not used the account during my new subscription period (because my mother was terminally ill and not using her computer.

My subscription was $249 which is outrageous for an individual user. They have incresed their fees every year since I subscribed when it was about $49.

Don't use this company's product. They are dishonest and uncaring.

Logmein just Charged me $384.11 WITHOUT My Permission

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Today, as directed, once the charge cleared, I called my bank bank and they gave me a phone number to contact LogMeIn. When I couldn't call LogMeIn the other day when I saw they'd charged my card.

I was miffed and I posted immediately. Especially after reading the disparaging reviews of others. The representative at LogMeIn, Javier, was quite courteous and did not question my request for cancellation whatsever. He was even kind enough to immediately email me the LogMeIn confirmation that they will be refunding me the amount if $384.11 in its entirety.

If, for whatever reason, I should not see my refund appear, all I would need to do now is call my bank, provide them a copy of my confirmation, and my bank will deal with it accordingly. Though I still do not like the fact that I was charged automatically, I do not have any complaint on LogMeIn's handling of the matter.

Borderline dishonest practices

I have tried the LogMeIn Pro services for few months and then decided it was not for me. I had subscribed for a 1 year contract and did not renew. That was 4 years ago (2014) and I just realised they have been charging my PayPal account without my prior agreement !

The yearly subscription price had increased 5 folds in the interval (I paid 60GBP the first year and the last bill they charged was 300GBP!!!)

Besides, there is no way to cancel the subscription on the website !

I called LogMeIn to complain, noting that I had not used their services a single time in the past 3 years. They said that the "automatic subscription renewal" was in the 30 pages Terms & Conditions (but clearly not in the subscription page) and that they were not responsible for monitoring the logs (a company called LogMeIn ...), and that emails mentioning the subscription renewal and the price increase were sent but must have been classified as spams (a problem they were clearly aware of but did nothing to fix).

I was not the first angry customer to call them, and I'm afraid I will not be the last ...

Not borderline but plain dishonest. Don't trust these guys with your computers

LOGMEIN just Charged me $384.11 WITHOUT My Permission

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

LOGMEIN just CHARGED me $384.11 WITHOUT my permission. I can't even find a phone number, or even a link on their website to contact them.

I will be disputing with my credit card company, and I will be killing that card A.S.A.P. At the behest of my computer tech, I tried their service a year ago. I found their service quite cumbersome and not so easy to use. I was totally dissatisfied.

Upon further evaluation, I chose to use Dashlane instead. Dashlane is a much better at a fraction of the costs.

In the meantime, I've got to go through the hassle of changing my credit card. I am glad to see that I am not the only one LogMeIn has screwed over.

PROBLEM RESOLVED SATISFACTORILY / LogMeIn

While I was upset at the auto-charge with its substantial increase, I am satisfied as 'LogMeIn' did promptly refund all charges upon request once I did manage to get hold of them, and without any argument.

I am satisfied with the outcome, although I have no plans to be using them in the future, I would not hesitate to do business with them should their services fit my needs.
